The power of a little me time packs a punch! All you need is a tiny bit to revitalize your entire life. Especially with most of us working from home or running a small business, and lovingly caring for our loved ones.
We all need a break.
Sheltering in place is what you make it. It's even what you don't make it but anyway, let's talk more about this "me time." Focus on the things that you loved to do but rarely get the time to do anymore.
Schedule it as an appointment at least once a week.
Even if you have to wait till everyone is asleep to enjoy. 2am after all is said and done.
Get. It. In.
If you have children and are lucky enough to have a trustworthy babysitter. Take advantage. Every now and then. For an hour or day. Go ahead and take a moment. They'll be fine.
Me time. The benefits are unlimited. I came up with a few ideas that work for me. Hoping they work for you too.
Listening To Your Favorite Music
Music is good food for the soul. Listen to some of your favorite music.
(Even if it's not kid friendly and your partner hates it)
Get some headphones and tune everything else out. Turn up, dance, sing along. Music is life.
Take a relaxing Bath
Taking a long relaxing bath with bubbles to the max. Burn some scented candles. Glass of wine if you partake. Lights off music on relax. Quiet, me time.
Read a good book
When's the last time you read a good book, for entertainment and not work related?
I love physical copies of books. Get lost in a book for as many minutes as you can.
Meditate
I'm still learning how to meditate. But from what I understand is that it comes naturally. Sitting comfortably in a clean clear space on the floor. Closing your eyes and being quiet and still. Your thoughts can do what they need to do. But if you prefer there's some helpful guided meditation videos online. Search meditation for beginners.
Make Something
Make something! Get your craft on. Let your creative side peak! I'm super thankful for art and the expression it allows. You can paint, or write, or repurpose something. Create something that gives you joy.
When I had a little extra time I would always craft. I actually taught myself how to make earrings! I still use jewelry making as my creative outlet. I get excited to share my creations with other accessories lovers as myself. Sharing this set because it's one of my favorites.
That's just a few ideas on some much needed me time that us mommies and superwomen need in our busy lives. Whatever you do- enjoy love. Enjoy
